Lessons and Sessions

Sup, world, for a minute I thought we weren't up and running anymore, but I forgot about our slight name change so anyway this is what I've been up to. Monday night I had the pleasure of attending Lessons and Sessions, hosted by one of my favorite DJ's, DJ Jeff-C. I gotta say yo, I had a blast. The class is for anyone wanting to learn how to DJ and also for DJ's who want to come cypher and share techniques. Also another one of my favorite DJ's teaches the class, my mentor DJ FX.  If you're into this at all the sessions are being held  every Monday @ 7pm at the Communicating Vessels HQ email me at lefthandedbandit@yahoo.com for more info. If you want to learn some proper djin or just come by and chill or even work on your lyrical prowess; Complet of the Greenseed was there and I also met two emcees from the group Intelligent Quotes (features coming soon).  I also took some pics hopefully you photography champs out there won't cringe too much at my photo taking and editting skills, I will be sure to work on it.

The picture here is worth a thousand words. It makes the message of Cory Savage's newest offerings from his upcoming CD, "Ni66as to Godz" self-explanatory. Kidd Hatchet Breakin Hearts With His New Release

Kidd Hatchet released this track for the romantically inclined, Heartwarming Heartbreaker. Inspired by a poem, written in response to his own forays, shows a topical depth and dexterity rarely seen in a scene dominated by bravado and gamesmanship. This track features a cameo appearance by the lovely Lox of The Ninjaz, another act featured on the upcoming Circuit VI, this classic weekend.

You can check out Kidd Hatchet performing live with the Ying Yang Twinz this Friday at the Zydeco, along with Q Dot, Ivprofen, Benjamin Jones, and Shaquille De'Andre of the Royal South family!

You can also check out his latest mixtape, Mainstream Murderer, which is also going live on DatPiff.com!

Jacob Duran With Some Throwback Magic

Jacob Duran is on a whole 'nother level on this visual. Channeling some 1970s smooth, silky vibe, Duran does more than dazzle on this cut. His verse on "Honey Moonin'" fits right in the minimalist, spaced out drums groove. Check this out and catch him live, October 25th, because guess what? The Circuit is on and it is brimming with talent, wall to wall coverage.

You can check out this track, which also features underground heroes K.L.U.B. Monsta, and others on his latest project, Writer's Block on his website, jacobduran.bandcamp.com!

Going Green With Q Dot and IV

It's a family affair! The hardest working man this side of the Mississippi and the coolest cat this side of the pillow connect out in the ATL to drop the visuals for Smoke Ya Veggies. The anticipation mounts as both MC's have projects coming out soon (Q Dot - R.E.A.L. & Ivprofen - Good Vibes II). Check out the visuals below and let me know what you think of this new smoking song...

... Or you can just let me know what you're burning on. Your choice!

Back To Skool

Skoolie back again, giving us a look behind the scenes of his promotional game as well as more insight on what drives him to be one of the most dominating lyricists in the game right now. I remember when MP da Wizard was THE guy when it came to lines, but, as of late, Skoolie Escobar has been taking the cake. Stay tuned. Later on, my left hand man gets to sit down with the kid at the beautiful Railroad Park for a one-on-one interview that you don't want to miss.

For now, enjoy "Journey To You're Welcome Pt. 2".

     You're welcome!

MidSummer Night's Peek From Cutt

To be honest, I want to leak these songs so bad but I'll try... TRY not to. Listening to these songs, you can get a sense that is both familiar and, at the same time, eccentric.

For instance, the one song that is out for the general public, the intro, features a piano sample and a drum pattern that would hit you as something familiar but in a culture saturated with 808s and synths, very much to the left. But when Cutt's voice comes into play, you can begin to realize that this is truly a Southern style. A slow, silky pace and a true grit and twang decorates the Cutt Dogg catalog, complimented by introspective and thought provoking lyricism.

There are some really interesting concepts on this album, which is probably the first thing you would think when you hear 'here comes the bride' in the middle of any MC's project. Each concept is well thought out and tastefully done. This album feels like a synergy of originality and authenticity that could only come from Cutt Dogg so when it is released, collect it. It's rare art.
