This piece, part of the "Made in the Magic City" series, really touches me. It centers it's focus on a record label called "Communicating Vessels" and label founder, Jeffery Cain. This man's vision is one that I completely resonate with and at the end is summed up by him, quite masterfully.
"We're so bombarded by things that manipulated in this world and sold to us that are of lesser quality and less value," he says. "When there artists that are making the art that is going to make us better people, then I've got to do everything that I can to support that."
In a musical climate where many struggle to balance making a living and making creative masterpieces, this attitude is the oasis in a vast ocean of sand. In this video, you get to see a label that is focused not merely on the financial benefits of music, but also very much in tune with the positive cultural contributions to the community that music has a heavy influence on.
